How To Shampoo

Or, Long May She Wave The prime requisite for a good shampoo is hot water. Finding that there is none, wait for a kettleful to heat. This will add zest to the performance later, as one kettleful will be found inadequate. Wet the hair and massage vigorously with shampoo jelly, Bon Ami, or whatever you prefer. Let a few lukewarm trickles of soapy water run down the back of the neck and along the chin, taking care also to rub plenty into the eyes. Try to find a bath towel, falling over the kettle, which you have previously placed on the floor. Rinse several times in cold water, which you have forgotten is hard and will not dissolve soap. Lemon juice or vinegar in the rinse will bring out the golden glints of girlhood, and are also fine for the eyes. Dry over a warmish radiator, or in the sunlight, achieving a gummy mass, and break three teeth out of the comb trying to reduce the disorder. Make an appointment with the hairdresser for a shampoo. —Michigan “Gargoyle.”
