HOCKEY SHIELD TOURNEY
TWO WITHDRAWALS Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. At a meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association letters were received from Wellington and Canterbury regretting that, on account of there being no available players, both associations were compelled to withdraw their entries for the shield tournament. The Canterbury Association offered to send a team to meet the winner of the Auckland v. Waikato match in September. It was decided to advise the Auckland Association of the withdrawals.
