FLED FROM THE “JOHNS”
MAORI’S EXCITEMENT AFTERMATH OF BRAWL “I was excited when 1 saw the Johns coming, so I ran away.” Edward Kahi protested innocence when charged at the Police Court this afternoon, but in spite of this innocence he fled from police officers when they noticed the aftermath of a brawl. One constable, in evidence, said he saw Kahi knock a man down. Kahi said that some men had come out of a hotel looking for a fight. His mate was attacked, and witness was struck a blow on the back of the neck. He then defended himself. Kahi, who had been convicted previously of assault, was convicted again and fined £3. -I* *!* -1’ ri- ?#• rr. rr rr rH Kt KtJrirv
