Devonport Footpaths.—“ The worst for a thousand miles around Auckland,” was the description given by Mr. F. J. H. Ellisdon, of the Devonport Borough Council, last night, of the main street footpath in the suburb. Stones from the size of half an inch to one and a-half inches protrude in the paths, and make walking anything but a pleasure. The engineer said it had been intended to coat the path, but the money gave out. If the council can scrape up £3O in the near future the path will be put in order.
