“BOBBY DAZZLERS”

The smoking of pipes in the buses at Devonport despite the by-law prohibiting smoking there, was mentioned at the council meeting last night by Mr. J. Hislop, who said that though he was a smoker he did not see why men with pipes “that fairly reeked and made you sick” should be allowed to defy the by-law; if they were men they would not do it. Mr. Sheehan: They must be pre-war pipes, I suppose. Mr. Hislop: Yes. Real bobby dazzlers. The traffic inspector is to give the matter his attention.
