SOVIET OFFICERS DEAD

STRANGE MYSTERY WHOLESALE EXECUTIONS By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 9.5 a.m. BERLIN, Wednesday. N EWSPAPERS from Leningrad mysteriously report the deaths during the last three days of 20 leading Soviet officials. Each death notice has the words, “Died in the service of the proletariat.” It is surmised that they are victims ol’ a counter-revolutionary plot. Simultaneously, there is a fresh campaign of summary executions by the Soviet. There were 4S last week, and some reports give the number as 100.—A. and N.Z.
