A KEEN DISPUTE
LONDON, Saturday. The fact that A. P.‘ P. Chapman played for his county, Kent, in a match against Surrey, after he had refused to captain the England team against the Rest of England at Bristol for business reasons, lias caused a controversy. The Surrey captain, P. G. Fender, said he strongly objected to the inclusion of Chapman in the county team as the counties had agreed to let their players off if required for the test match trials. Surrey refused to play Hobbs against Somersetshire at the time of the trial match at Sheffield, after Hobbs, who had been ill. had refused to play at Sheffield but had recovered in time to play in the county fixture. — A. and N.Z.-Sun.
