THANKSGIVING SUNDAY

GRANGE RD. BAPTIST CHURCH The annual tranksgiving services of the Grange Road Baptist Church were held on Sunday. The Rev. J. J. North, principal of the Baptist College, - was the preacher at the morning service. The evening service was taken by the pastor, the Rev. A. S. Wilson. ‘The Rev. North took as his text, “Because thou servest not* the Lord thy God with joyfulness and with gladness of heart for the abundance of all things therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies.” The Rev. Wilson based his sermon on "What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me? I will take the cup of salvation.” The choir under Mr. R. S. Abel gave selections at both services, the soloists being Miss M. McTavish, Miss L. Cleveland, Mrs. Clarke and Mr. J. P. Wooller. The amount asked for was £oO as the effort followed two special offerings by the Baptist Union. The special offering though not complete, yesterday reached £66 and the total amount for the day was £ 74. The result was announced at a social half-hour after the service by the treasurer. Mr. Abel, who referred to the promising state of the \\ oik and the increasing numbers in the Sunday school, Bible classes and the advance in church attendance.
