“Miss N.Z.” Girls at Invercargill
ENTHUSIASTIC WELCOME ANOTHER NIGHT’S VOTING (Special to THE SUN.) INVERCARGILL, To-day. \ GREAT crowd assembled on .the Invercargill railway station yesterday to greet the ten girls who are candidates for the title of “Miss New Zealand.” The competition is the sole topic of conversation everywhere. The order of the first five candidates still remains the same, but that of the others tias undergone a complete change. The positions First: Miss Dale Austen (Miss Otago). Second: Miss Vera Hodge (Maid of Honour to Miss Otago). Third: Miss Billie Andreasson (Miss Auckland). Fourth: Miss Hazel Spiers (Miss Wellington). Fifth: Miss Hlldred Graham (Maid of Honour to Miss Auckland). Sixth: Miss Morgie Cameron (Maid of Honour to Miss Southland). Seventh: Miss Winnie Tonkinson (Miss Southland). Eighth: Miss Leon McCall (Miss Canterbury). Ninth: Miss Pat. Smidt (Maid of Honour to Miss Wellington). Tenth: Miss Jane Kinsey (Maid of Honour to Miss Canterbury).
