TAXI-METER CARS

STARTING IN AUCKLAND BLACK AND WHITE CABS Probably the greatest taxi-cab organisation in the world to-day is controlled by the Yellow Cab Service, which is famous for its expeditious and courteous exclusive system in over six hundred cities abroad. The mantle of that success has been thrown upon the Black and White Cabs, the exceedingly popular service established in Wellington just over two years ago and now about to commence operations in the Queen City with a fleet of new and up-to-date vehicles. That Black and White Cabs have glowing possibilities here can be gauged by the remarkable progress in Wellington, where in the first year a 10 per cent, dividend was paid. Last year the clear profits exceeded £4,000 after paying all expenses and providing for depreciation and the reserve fund. One has only to compare the advantages of Auckland, its greater population and far-flung growing suburbs and urban areas to realise that Black and White Cabs have an ideal field here. A fine central freehold site for a commodious new garage and offices has been acquired and the new cabs will soon be in operation. PUBLIC CO-OPERATION INVITED Since its inception the Company has demonstrated the value of financial cooperation by investors large and small, and the new issue of shares should attract wide attention. They can be purchased for 22s 6d on application and 2s 6d on allotment, balance at calls of 2s 6d per share at intervals of not less than three months. The company also contracts to pay 6 per cent, on all moneys received in advance of calls being made on unpaid share amounts —a generous provision which can be taken as a very healthy sign.

Further evidence of the company’s enterprise is its stand in Shed 12 at the Winter Show, where officers are in attendance to explain all details and meet prospective shareholders. The extension of capital provides a golden opportunity for all people to participate in the profits of a well-established concern founded on the soundest financial basis.
