VAUDEVILLE STARS
AN EXCELLENT COMPANY Tlao merry pace set by the J. C. Williamson Celebrity Vaudeville is making a popular appeal to Auckland theatregoers. Led by the celebrated comedian, Mr Dick Henderson, the company consists mostly of stars of the first firmament, and from first to last there is never a dull moment. Mr. Henderson does not descend to grotesque make-up to help him with his laughs. He appears under a little bowler hat, rattles off a string of patter and leaves the audience breathless. Rich and Adair are next of the merrymakers. They present an excellent turn. Les Zengas Freres. two dancing Frenchmen, with a wonderful sense of burlesque, excel in the simultaneous dance. Belmont’s CanaryOpera is attractively staged and will appeal to bird-lovers. Valencia and the Lee Sisters go the limit in tickling the spine with thrills. Others who contribute to an evening’s enjoyment are Colin Crane. Marie Lawton and Stella Lamonde. The potted comedic of the finale are delightfully amusing.
