Another Long Debate Likely

STONEWALL TACTICS POINTS OF PROCEDURE • (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, To-day. There is a possibility of another protracted debate in the House to-day on Mr. Howard s Workers’ Compensation Amendment Bill. It is the first on the order paper and will be followed by Mr. H. Holland’s Religious Exercises Bill. A nice point will probably be raised respecting Mr. Howard’s measure, which proposes the payment of greater amounts than those in the present Act. If the Speaker declares this to be an Appropriation Bill a private member may not sponsor it. Further, in that event the Religious Exercises Bill would be first on the list. It is possible, however, that the House will give Mr. Howard a second reading of his Bill.
