YOUTHFUL ROGUE
PASSES BAD CHEQUES THEFT OF BICYCLE Press Association. PALMERSTON N., To-day. In the Police Court Herbert George Riddington, farm labourer, aged 19. pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence on charges of issuing valueless cheques at Woodville and Palmerston North. Accused was given work by a Woodville farmer, who later missed «his cheque-book, which accused used to defraud shopkeepers until arrested. On a charge of conversion to his own use of a bicycle at Dannevirke he was sentenced to 31 days’ imprisonment. Accused rode the cycle to Paekakarikl, and there discarded it.
