POLICEMAN TRANSFERRED
PRESENTATION MADE A presentation to Sergeant Rowell, who for twenty years has been stationed in and around the city, was made at the City Police Station yesterday evening. Senior-Sergeant Mannigan, of Newton, in presenting Sergeant Rowell with a pair of rugs on behalf of the local police force, referred to the good work he had done during the years he had spent in Auckland. Similar sentiments were expressed by Detective-Sergeant Kelly and Sergeant Waterman. Sergeant Rowell is to leave in a few days to take up a position on the Stratford- force.*
