COUNTIES IN CONFERENCE
RESOLUTIONS PASSED (From Our Oicn Correspondent.) HAMILTON, To-day. The Rural Counties Association today passed resolutions favouring a petrol tax; Government paying 75 per cent, of the cost* of upkeep of hospitals out of the Consolidated Fund; Government accepting the responsibility for rates on land which reverts to the Crown, and taking over the control, construction and maintenance of main arterial roads.
