ADVERTISING DISPLAY
DOMINION GOODS By Cable.—Press Association. — Cops*igkt LONDON, Sunday. Simultaneously with Empire Shopping Week in London the British Advertising Exhibition has been opened at Olympia. There are many fascinating features. One exhibit which is of special interest to the Dominions is the Empire Marketing Board’s display. In this specimen labels are shown for Em-pire-wide adoption. After familiarity with the multi-coloured tins in which Australian and New Zealand jams and fruits are imported it is almost revolW" tionary to find that every proposed label is white, with monochrome or bi-colour semi-cubist designs describing the contents and the country o origin. , However, it is the germ of a good idea which, coupled with the Merchandise Marks Act, will protect tn public who buy canned goods wir Imperial-sounding names, only to nn what the label had not shown, name j that it came from California.—A.
