That would be the last link in the highway. Other work in hand and shortly to ho completed, he said, was the raising of the Great South Road at Mercer, the formation and metalling of the Hangatiki-Te Kuiti Valley Road, and the Mokau Bridge, the latter being completed in September. Mr. Wynyard also pointed out that as a result of the metalling of the Hangatiki-Kawhia Road, a 200-mile run through the Waitomo County was now available to motorists. The route nrovided excellent scenery, while splendid fishing and shooting were also he said it was hoped, with the cooperation of the local body concerned, to have it surfaced as far as Silverdale jjcfore next winter.
