WIN AT BRISBANE AUCKLANDER BEATS HALL By Cable. — Press Association.—Copyright BRISBANE, Sunday. • The Auckland boxer, Charles Purdy (10st.), defeated the negro, Joe Hall (10st. 3lb.) f on points in a 15-rounds contest at Brisbane last evening. The negro took four out of the first six rounds and then eased off. In the 14th Hall was stung into a vicious attack and had Purdy going, but he failed to follow up his advantage in the 15th and the verdict was loudly cheered. Despite Hall’s disappointing display Purdy was always busy. His evasion was reminiscent of Grime, but things looked bad for him in the 14th. when Hall showed a flash of real form. — A. and N.Z. Table. Tennis. —The annual championship tournament of the Auckland Table Tennis Association will be held in the Y.M.C.A. Buildings, Wellesley Street, to-night.
