W. W. Bovvker is in receipt of a cablegram from A. J. Mills and Co., Ltd., stating that importations of butter into England during June amounted to 34,000 tons—a record. Denmark, New Zealand and Holland were the principal contributors, but as prices are reasonable and consumption good, it is anticipated values will readjust themselves without anv great disturbance of the market. New Zealand butter, on a weak market, is quoted at 158 s to 160 s, and cheese is 87s to 88s, with the demand steady. t £ nder d ?- te July 14 Dalgety and Co., Ltd., received the following cablegram trom their London house:—Butter: The market is very quiet. New Zealand finest salted, 158 s to 160 s; Danish butter, 158 s to 160 s; Australian, finest unsalted, 1645; salted. 158 s to 160 s. Cheese: The market is quiet. New Zealand cheese, white, 87s to 88s; coloured. S7s to 88s; Canadian cheese, white, 96s to 102 s; coloured, 96s to 102 s; c.i.f., BSs. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for last month were 681,000 cwt., as compared with 528,000 cwt. for the corresponding period of last year. Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd., received the following message from their London house:—Butter, weak, 158 s; cheese, 87s to SBs.
