LABOURER FATALLY CRUSHED BY LIFT

ACCIDENT AT SANFORD’S T3ETER McCAULEY, a labourer, aged 34, died yesterday following injuries received when he was struck by a lift at Sanford, Ltd., Jellicoe Street. While taking a short cut from one department to another he went through a lift well, and a heavy goods elevator crashed on him. He died on the way to the hospital. McCauley, who lived in Beresford Street, came from Hast Ham, London. An inquest was opened this morning by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., and it was adjourned after evidence of identification had been given.
