A Brilliant Function

The Auckland University Law Students’ Society held its 10th annual ball in the Scots Tlall last evening. The function was a particularly successful one. and the hall, with its wealth of gay decorations, presented a charming: setting for the many delightful frocks that were worn. Scarlet draperies and banks of palms and flowers had been used to convert the stage into a comfortable lounge, while in the supper room dainty tall vases of golden wattle and narcissi effectively decorated the tables, and palms and foliage lent their green beauty to the walls. Among those present were: Mrs R. M. Algie, wearing a charming tiered frock of rose du Barri taffeta. Mrs. A. L. Herdman, brocaded gown of black and silver metal cloth. Mrs. T, W. Leys, crystal beaded gown of black satin carreau. Mrs. F. P. Worley, gown of silver brocaded tissue. Mrs. Barnard, panne velvet gown in tangerine shade. Mrs. E. H. Northcroft, crepe de chine gown of petunia and leaf green. Mrs. L. Adams, frock of white georgette with gold lace and embroidery. Mrs. A. F. Frater, diamante trimmed gown of black crepe satin. Miss Hawkes, frock of forget-me-not blue taffeta. Miss W. Frater, cameo pink frock of georgette. Miss Sutherland, georgette frock of flame shade. Miss G.
