TE AWAMUTU POWER BOARD
Mr. J. T. Johnson presided over the usual monthly meeting of the Te Awamutu Electric-Power Board on Friday. There \vere also present: Messrs. G. Spinley, J. C. Montefiore, A. L. Storey. N. M. Lethbridge. J. B. Teasdale, S. C. Macky and J. G. Sutherland. The manager of South Canterbury Power Board wrote giving particular! of cooking range charges in 20 power I board districts. He had tabulated the information obtained. It was stated ! that the figures showed Te Awamutu as very favourably situated, for he computed there were only four of the 20 boards making a lower charge. The financial statement showed the power board account in debit £4,449, and the loan account likewise in debit to the extent of £1,598 15s 3d. Accounts presented totalled £1 699 16s 3d. The consumers’ finance account showed a credit balance of £1.224 12s lid. The revenue for the month of May was shown as: Lighting, heating and meter rents, £1,065 18s 61; poww£72s 15s lOd; penalties and sundries. £35 7s; approximate street lighting £26.
