London (Melbourne) arrived in Auckland this morning, and are staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Springhalt (Wellington) and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Armstn>ng (Sydney) arrived at the Grand Hotel this morning. M. Ignaz Friedman, the celebrated niaiiist, arrived in Auckland by the first express this morning and is staying at the Grand Hotel. p r . Alexander Goldstein, the Zionist envoy, left Auckland this morning for Rotorua. After a short stay there he will proceed to Wellington. Mr. W. D. Bay, of General Motors, \*ew Zealand, Ltd., who has been in ~nd for the past week, returned South by the Limited last evening. Mr. F. J. Savage. J.P.. of Waimana, Bay of Plenty, is staying at the Commercial Hotel. Mr. W. A. Holdsworth, who left for Wellington by train yesterday evening to attend a meeting of the Local Governments Loans Board, is expected to return oil Sunday night. Dr. A. B. Sturtevant has been appointed resident officer for the Raglan district in place of Hr. R. Cashmore, who has resigned. Mr. G. Spencer Green, physical director of the Y.M.C.A., will leave Christchurch on Saturday for Auckland, en route to America, where he will take up an appointment with the Y.M.C.A. at Columbus, Ohio. Mr. D. J. Taylor, on relinquishing his position as general manager of the Maoriland Motors, Ltd., Wellington, was presented with a gold fountain pen and pencil by the staff as a token of and regard.
