JOTTINGS FROM ELLERSLIE
A Useful Pair Diamond Queen has been moving attractively and is getting into racing shape. The chestnut mare is, one of J. Anderton’s team, included in which is Honelieke, who has also teen responsible for some useful efforts. Easy to Handle The rising two-year-old colt by Quin Abbey from Sea Bird now being handled by F. Weston is disputing all signs of developing into a racehorse. Though his education so far has only been of short duration the yojngscter has become very quiet and takes kindly to his tasks. Very Forward King Val, by Valkyrian, is a juvenile in J. Williamson’s team, who is one of the most forward of the babies at Ellerslie. He has had a fair anount of exercising, and. such work as he has accomplished can be favourably commented upon. Should Do Better Though Carinthia has not done anything to stamp her a champ.on, she should be a better mare next season. Nothing strenuous is being exacted from her at present, but whatever light tasks she does are carried through nicely. Jockey’s Marriage The Auckland horseman, 11. Dulicu, will be present at the Gisborne meeting. where he has been engaged to ride Gold Dot and Dutchie. Dulieu will shortly join the list of benedicts, and the trip to Gisborne will be in the nature of a honeymoon. As the bHde-to-be is the sister of another Auckland horseman, the wedding is sure t 3 he of interest to the local racing fraternity.
