ON THE ’CHANGE

DEMAND FOR BANKS MINING DULL A steady demand for bank and insurance shares continues to be one of the features of the ’Change. Unions have eased to see a sale of £ls 13s. Coals are in good tone and sellers of Hikurangi (pref.) have now come on to the market. Buyers of Renowns advanced 3d at the mid-day call. Timber scrip is receiving more attention after a prolonged period of idleness, and Nationals were dealt with to-day at 12s 6d. Kauris, Bartholomew and Nationals are all in demand, though a considerable disparity continues between buyers’ and sellers’ quotations. Industrials are generally idle, with little alteration in the market. Mining is dull, Waihi Junction passing at Is 6d, being the only scrip receiving much attention.
