PALESTINE TRIUMPHANT!

AN INSPIRING CAMPAIGN ZIONIST ENVOY DEPARTS “'p'Oß century upon century J Jewry has sung of a Palestine vanquished, but now will we sing of Palestine triumphant.” “I recognise that Zionism goes forward as a bold movement —Ood inspired—and I feel we are working with God in this movement, and we have not traversed the travail of the ages in vain.” In these words Rabbi S. Goldstein voiced the inspiration felt by a large gathering of members of the Jewish community of Auckland, which assembled last evening to birl farewell to Dr. Alexander Goldstein, the Zionist emissary, who concluded his successful campaign in Auckland yesterday. “We have been thrilled with Dr. Goldstein’s eloquence,” continued the Rabbi, “and his presence has been ah inspiration which has strengthened our spirit of brotherhood.” The Rabbi feelingly referred to the news of the disaster in Palestine. “We know the buildings will speedily be rebuilt, but it is the loss of life which saddens us.” As a mark of respect to their compatriots who were killed in the earthquake, the gathering stood in silence for a few moments.
