JOTTINGS FROM ELLERSLIE TRACKS QUIET The heavy rain experienced of late has made the tracks at Ellerslie very’ heavy, and mentors are restricting their charges to work on the sand, but there is very little moving even in this direction. Attractive Youngster Parfait Amour is developing into an attractive youngster, and is kept busy with useful work. He has not been seriously extended yet, but is ready to undertake his duties. Back at Work Eden Hall, who is a bit above the average, has joined the active brigade again after a short respite. Nippy has also finished his vacation, and both horses appear in excellent health. Getting Ready Town Guard, who has several good performances to his credit, is working again very steadily, in view of spring racing, and the Archiestown gelding should be in forward condition when required for the business. Taking it Easy Glenlight is pottering about and not doing a great deal at Ellerslie. The ’chaser showed promise prior to the Great Northern Meeting, but failed to carry on with the good work. Steadily Improving W. Tozer is spending a lot of time over Valour, and the youngster is improving each day. Ballymoy II Well Cynthia N and Ballymoy II still continue to work easily, and though Ballymoy II is in good condition, Cynthia N could do with a little more flesh. Should Make Good Though Stormfiend has only’ raced on a few occasions, he showed form and as he is rising five years old, there is still time for him to make good. A. Morrow intends taking him in hand again shortly for a strong preparation in view of the spring meeting.
