ADOPTION IN STATE SERVICE NEW SOUTH WALES SCHEME By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright SYDNEY, Tuesday. The New South Wales State Government has decided where practicable to adopt the five-day week for the Public Service. This will mean the abolition of work on Saturdays in practically all the Government Departments.—A. and N.Z. FEWER WORKING HOURS EXTRA COST HEAVY MELBOURNE, Tuesday. As a result of the 44-hours week recently awarded by the Arbitration Court the wages bill of the Victorian railways will be increased by £610,000 a year.
