\V. Goodfellow w.ent South last evening by the Limited.

Mr. Nor "nan Wade arrived in Auckland this morning by the Limited from Wellingtor.

Captain Macintosh Ellis, of Wellington is on a visit to Auckland. He is staying at the Central Hotel.

Hig Horour Mr. Justice Adams will leave Christchurch to-morrow evening to take sittings of the Supreme Court at Auckland.

G. L Ewan, who has been acting inspector of the Land and Survey Department at Hamilton, has been promoted to a position at Marton.

Mr. M. Shenkin, jun., son of Mr. M. Shenkin. of Auckland, has passed his final medical examination at Edinburgh University.

Mr. John Rowe, president of the Auckland Trotting Club, returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning.

Mr. R. A* Armstrong, president of the Wellington Trotting Club and North Island representative of the Trotting Association, arrived in Auckland this morning to attend the funeral of the late Mr. C. F. Ma^k.

Mr. P. Hally, Conciliation Commissioner, was a passenger for Wellington on the Limited last evening.

The following members of Parliament left for Wellington by the Limited last evening:—Messrs. W. J. Jordan. E. D. McLennan and H. G. R. Mason.

Mr. R- W. Rowntree, the well-known Auckland cricketer, is leaving for England by the Remuera on Friday. Mr. Rowntrec’s visit is primarily a business one, but he may play a little cricket while in England. His present intention is to be back in New Zealand before the start of next cricket season. Mr. G. W. Wyles. assistant signal electric engineer, Wellington, and Mr. A. S. Wansborough, designing engineer. New Zealand Railways, are at present in Auckland on official business.
