PLUMBERS’ TEST CASE
WATER-HEATER DISPUTE PROSECUTION FAILS Holding that the fixing of an electric water-heating installation meant the setting up and fixing in position of the apparatus for use, Mr. W. R. McKean. S.M., gave judgment in favour of Bycroft and Cummadi, electrical engineers at the Magistrate's Court this morning. Mr. J. Clark, secretary of the Plumbers' Union, had brought the case against the firm, alleging that the work they did in installing the heaters was a breach of the Plumbers’ Registration Act. “As this is a test case, I fix security for appeal at £lO 10s,” said Air. McKean.
