PAPATOETOE TOWN BOARD
At the meeting of the Papatoetoe Town Board last night there were present, Mr. A. W. Hall, chairman; Messrs. IV. J. Nicholson, W. Brown, J. Franklin, P. Pennell, E. S. toorenlen and G. Foster. . . The foreman reported having taneii »nd shelled the footpath on Hula Road, and also having commenced the laying of the kerbing in the Manukau County Council area of the Great South Road from Cornwall Road to Kolmar Road. It was decided that the hoard repair the overhead railway bridge in Station Road, where holes have been worn in the roadway with heavy traffic. The chairman of the Works Committee reported that Pa ton Avenue was at present under water, and it was decided to regrade the roadway. A complaint was received from Mrs. Bullen. Central Avenue. regarding •torm wa er overflowing her property from Scoit Road and Central Avenue. The engineer was instructed to inspect the property and report to the m*xt meeting. % The bad state of the far end of Hillcrest Road, due to the extraordinary heavy carting, was discussed, it was decided that Burnside Bros, he called upon to put the road in good repair. An application received from A. Mephan for connection with the drain4s>e for his proposed billiard saloon to the drain already laid in Station Hoad was granted subject to the work meeting with the approval of the Health Department. The chairman reported that there *' ere no new developments in connection with the proposed water supply. A communication was also received f 'om the Onehunga Borough Council, stating that it had no intention at present of opening up the Hunua reserve for a water supply. The Education Board granted permission for the board to include tlie section at present used as a horse Paddock, in the recreation grounds, on condition that another paddock be supplied for the use of the school childfen’s horses. Messrs. A. W. Hall, Q- Foster and the clerk were appointed a deputation 10 wait on the Papatoetoe School Committee to discuss the questions of the sanitary service at the school and the Provision of a new horse paddock. The clerk reported that outstanding rates amounted to £264 3s 2d. Accounts totalling £245 Is Id were Passed for payment.
