FOOTBALLER PLAYS WITH FRACTURED SKULL

COLLISION ON FIELD Press Association. DUNEDIN, Monday. When Pirates and Southern met in the Rugby senior competition on June 11, Wise, the Pirates’ wing-three-quarter, and Cusliine, a Southern player, collided. Both men were taken to hospital, Wise with an injury to his head, but an X-ray photograph did not disclose any injury, and he was discharged after a day or two in hospital. He played against Kaikorai last Saturday week, and against Alhambra on Saturday. Another X-ray photograph has just been taken, and the remarkable discovery made that Wise is suffering from a fracture of the skull. He will not play football again this season.
