British Miners’ Ranks Divided
FEDERATION CRUMBLES A DRAMATIC SITUATION By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright LONDON, Monday. The “Daily Express’’ says that a dramatic situation is developing between the Miners’ Federation and Mr. G. A. Spencer's new industrial miners’ union which is quickly gaining re emits. The Miners’ Federation since the strike has fallen from 800,000 paying membership to about 400,000. At present the Trade Union Congress refuses to recognise Mr. Spencer’s union, but if its membership In creases much more it will be difficult for the congress to continue to ignore it.—A. and N.Z.
