The belief was expressed at a meeting of the Empire Cancer Campaign Committee that discovery of its cause would not long be delayed. Sir Thomas Horder said he was more hopeful of the tendency of recent research. The Duke of York, who was reelected president, wrote expressing tl\e heartfelt hope that discoveries would soon be made. The council acceded with the greatest satisfaction to the Sydney University committee’s application for affiliation, and empowered it to nominate a representative to the council.— j A. and N.Z.
