GAMING BILL
CURIOSITY NOT SATISFIED MR. LEE EXTENDS A FEELER (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. A feeler which Mr. J. A. Lee extended in the House to-day failed to draw from the Prime Minister an indication of the Government’s attitude towards Sir George Hunter’s Gaming Bill. Mr. Lee asked whether the Government intended to give any time to the passage of the measure. A great many people, he said, were curious as to what was in the mind of the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister expressed surprise that such a large number was interested in the bill. Every private member who introduced a bill was entitled to consideration by the Government and to a certain amount of time. The Government would at the proper time —when the bill came before the House —indicate how much time was to be devoted by that side of the Hou|« to the measure.
