HUNTLY NEWS

The Huntly Branch of the-Returned Soldiers’ Association met on Thursday, Mr. W. Bullough presiding. The programme of future activities includes lectures, socials, a big ball, etc., to provide comforts for disabled men. The finances of the association are in a sound position and it is hoped to hand over a substantial sum to the town board in the near future for purposes already known.

The arrival of THE SUN in these parts is always welcomed, and the new innovation of making a non-stop motor run from Auckland to Huntly is greatly appreciated. Readers of THE SUN can now obtain their copies about 5.15 p.m., and Rotowaro, Pukemiro and Glen Afton residents are now able to obtain their news the same day it is published. The Croquet Club held its meeting during the week and elected Mrs. Walker president and Mrs. Dodds secretary for the ensuing season.
