PONSONBY BAND FOUNDER

FUNERAL AT HILLSBOROUGH At Hillsborough cemetery yesterday the funeral took place of the late Mr. C. Hoffman, who died on Wednesday after a long illness. Mr. Hoffman was one of the founders and trustees of the Ponsonby Boys' Brass Band, and members of the band marched in the funeral procession from the residence, Jervois Road, tc» the Three Lamps, Ponsonby. The late Mr. S. Hunt, of Ponsonby. and Mr. Hoffman were the two original trustees of the band. Last November Mr. Hoffman became ill and had since been confined to his bed. He was 55 years of age. He leaves a widow, two sons, Mr. C. A. Hoffman, Mr. H. W. Hoffman, anil one daughter, Miss M. A. Hoffman.
