RAETIHI VALUATIONS

Requests by the Raetihi Borough Council for a revaluation of the borough have not been acceded to by the Government, but individual revaluations have been made, this upsetting the council’s estimates. A public meeting held this week passed the following resolution: “That this meeting of ratepayers of the Borough of Raetihi desires that the Minister be asked to remove the anomalies caused by recent revaluations made of certain borough lands, by having an immediate revaluation of the whole of the borough.” The Mayor was asked to present the resolution.
