Meehanlcal hare coursing is becoming most popular, particularly since the bookmakers were granted the right to ply their calling in connection with the new sport. A crowd pf 20,000 attended the meeting at the Epping racecourse on Saturday night. The entrance-gates were blocked, and the authorities were unable to handle the crush, which was relieved by the people rushing the vehicle entrance and flooding the course without paying.— A. and N.Z.
