CROSSING COLLISION
CAR BADLY DAMAGED DRIVER’S INJURY A motor-car driven by Mr J. T. Dicken, of Queen Mary’s Avenue, Epsom, was struck by a train on the level crossing at Argyle Street, Morningside, yesterday afternoon. The car was going toward the New North Road when the accident occurred and was turned completely round by the force of the impact. The train, which was proceeding rather slowly, carried the vehicle for some distance before throwing it against the fence by the cattle stop. Mr. Dicken sustained a fractured rib, but women passengers who “were with him in the car escaped injury. The motor itself was badly damaged. Insurance figures are not available.
