Whisky and Football.—A statement emanating from Wellington to the effect that the chairman of the Wellington Football Association had seen Aucklanders provide whisky for their players was emphatically denied by Mr. A. Menzies, chairman of the A.F.A., this morning. “There is no truth in it,” said Mr. Menzies. “Our association has never distributed whisky among players, and as far as I know players do not drink anywhere near the field.” The secretary of the association, Mr. L. C. H. Dawson, and several club secretaries, who were approached, also denied that any such thing existed in Auckland. _
