IKALA LEAVES COLON. —A cable message to tlie New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the Ikala arrived at Colon on June 26 from Montreal, and sailed again on that date for New Zealand. She is due at Auckland about July 24. HORORATA LEAVES PANAMA.— Cabled news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Hororata left Panama on June 27 for New Zealand, via Suva, en route from London. The vessel is due at Wellington on July 25 and at Auckland a week later. AORANGI LEAVES SYDNEY Cable advice received by the Union Company states that the 3LM.MJS. Aorangi sailed from Sydney at 4 p.m. vesterday for Auckland. She is duo here next Monday morning, and is announced to leave again the following day at 11 a.m. for Suva, Honolulu, v ictoria and Vancouver. SYDNEY STEAMERS— Both the Union Company’s intercolonial passenS er steamers, Maheno and IVlarama, leave Sydney to-day for New Zealand. The former sails for Auckland and the latter for Wellington. Each is due at their respective ports next Tuesday mornirur. MAIMYO REPORTS. A radio message received by the Farmers Cooperative Auctioneering . Company states that the C. and D. Line s chartered steamer Mairayo, en route from New York, was at noon to-day bi> miles off Tiri, and was experiencing a heavy easterly gale. The vessel is expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland to-night, and will beith early to-morrow morning. WAITEMATA A R RI VI N G— From Pacific Coast ports the Union Company expects the steamer Waitemata to arrive at Auckland on July 16. Aftei discharging the local portion of her cargo, the vessel will proceed to .Napier, Wellington, Sydney and Melbourne to complete. WAIHEMO FOR WELLINGTON.— According to advice received by the Union Company the Waihemo, en route from Pacific Coast ports, left Apia last Wednesday for Wellington, LytteUon, Timaru, Dunedin, Bluff and New flymouth. She is expected to arrive at Wellington about Tuesday or Wednesday next. REMUERA’S ALTERED ITINERARY. —An alteration in the loading itinerary of the Remuera is announced by the New Zealand Shipping Company. The vessel was due at Lyttelton this morning from Timaru, and will now later proceed to Picton, thence Auckland to fill up. She is due here on July 11, and is scheduled to sail finally from this port on July 16 for Southampton and London via Panama. CUMBERLAND LEAVES WAIKOKOPU. —The Federal steamer Cumberland sailed from Waikokopu last evening for AVanganui and Wellington to complete her loading. She is expected to clear the latter port on July 9 for London, Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool via Panama. SOUTH AUSTRALIAN LOADING. — The Union Company advises that the steamer Kartigi loads at South Australian ports, Melbourne and Stanley (Tasmania) early this month for Auckland direct, thence New Plymouth, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. MAM/tal’S PROGRAMME. —Due at Oamaru this afternoon from Wellington, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Mamari will commence loading there and later fill up at Timaru, New Plymouth and Wellington. She is to sail finally from Wellington on July 14 for London via Montevideo and Teneriffe. port hardy to complete.— The C. and D. Line steamer Port Hardy is to leave Lyttelton to-day for Wellington. Gisborne and Auckland to complete her loading. She is expected here about July 6 and is to sail finally from Auckland on July 9 for New York, Boston and London via Panama. HAURAKI AT M ELBOU RN E.— The Union Company’s motor steamer llaura ki. which arrived at Auckland from Vancouver on June 19. reached Melbourne yesterday. She is to proceed to Adelaide and Sydney before returning to Pacific Coast ports of Canada and khe United States.
MATATUA FROM LIVERPOOL.— Loaded with a full cargo of general merchandise, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Matatua arrived at Auckland this morning- from Liverpool and berthed at 9 o’clock at Queen’s Wharf to commence discharge. The vessel loaded at West of England ports, and sailed finally from Liverpool on May 22. The trip across the Atlantic was an uneventful one, generally fair weather prevailing throughout. The Matatua arrived at Colon on the night of June 4 and bunkered there for the next two days. Transit through the canal was granted and the steamer cleared Balboa early on June 7. The voyage across the Pacific was an average one, with good weather most of the way, and squalls at times, especially during the last week. The Matatua’s cargo consists chiefly of spirits, porcelain and chinaware and large quantities of oil. Captain F. Greene is in command and the following are his officers: Chief, Mr. T. Smith; second, Mr. A. Chrystal; third. Mr. J. Fuller; chief engineer, Mr. W. Brown: second, Mr. J. Wright; third, Mr. W. Heald; fourth, Mr. A. Stewart; fifth, Mr. J. McClintock; sixth, Mr. A. Brown; seventh, Mr. F. Stuart; chief refrigerating engineer, Mr. J. McMillan; second, Mr. J. Elliott; ship’s surgeon. Dr. Burton; wireless operator, Mr. H. Towner; chief steward, Mr. A. Rice. L. D. Nathan and Co., the local agents, expect to despatch the Matatua about Thursday next in continuation of her voyage to Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge. MOERAKI’S PASSENGERS.—The Union Company’s intercolonial steamer Moeraki, which arrived at Wellington on Wednesday from Melbourne direct, brought the following passengers : Saloon, for Wellington.—Messrs. Gedney and 2 steerage. lONIC'S VOYAGE.—The White Star liner lonic, which arrived at Wellington last Wednesday from London and Southampton via Panama and Pitcairn Island, loaded at London and then proceeded to Southampton to pick up passengers and mails, sailing on May 19. For the first few days rough weather was encountered, but after that fine weather prevailed till arrival at Colon. While the lonic coaled, the passengers had a run ashore. She proceeded straight to sea from the Panama Canal, and had fine weather till arrival off Pitcairn Island. Three boat-loads of islanders went off to exchange and sell fruit. After an hour’s stop the lonic resumed her voyage, and met with rough weather and strong winds until Tuesday, when fine weather set in again. The voyage was uneventful.
