CORONER’S VERDICT DEATH FROM GAS POISONING A verdict that death was the result of suicide by gas poisoning was returned yesterday afternoon by the coroner, Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., at an inquest on John Melville Lord, aged 35, who was found dead in a house at 22 Kebble Street, Archhill, on Wednesday evening. A labourer, John Walter Thomas, said deceased had been boarding with him for six months. He was very depressed when witness left him at home on Wednesday morning, and said the probation office!? told him he would have to go back to his wife, from whom he was separated. He remarked that he would sooner die than do so. Returning home at 5.30 p.m., witness found him lying dead in front of the kitchen stove with a gas tube in his mouth and the gas turned on.
