PRODUCERS ONLY ON DAIRY BOARD
PROPOSAL OPPOSED ( Special to THE SUN.) HAWERA, To-day. The action of the National Dairy Association in deciding to ask the Government to amend the Dairy Control Act, providing for a board consisting of producers’ representatives only, was strongly condemned by Mr. R. W. D. Robertson, the representative of Messrs. Andrew Clement and Son, who is now on a visit to Taranaki. Mr. Robertson said that if the' Government carried this into effect it would be suicidal, meaning as it would that only the producer would,, be catered for, while the -consumer would be neglected. Any such scheme could only end in failure.
The visitor from England considers the prospects for the New Zealand dairy industry are bright.
