PAPATOETOE CLERK’S SALARY
The Papatoetoe Town Board had a heated discussion last night on a proposal that the town clerk be employed full-t.ime. A special committee recommended that the clerk’s salary be £2OB per annum, and a clerk be employed to assist him at £2 2s a week, and he be asked to continue in office till June 30, 1928, when applications for a new officer to commence duties on July 1 be invited.
Varied opinions were expressed and the motion finally carried, Mr. Franklin dissenting.
