The South in its first innings made 235 (Jardine 57, Chapman 70). Bowling, Jupp took six wickets for 90. North in its first innings made 269 (Holmes, not out 127, Sutcliffe, not out, 131). This is their forty-first three-figure partnership, thus beating the record of Hobbs and Hayward, who had 40. —A. and N.Z.-Sun.
