ARBITRATION COURT

EMPLOYER’S REPRESENTATIVE MR. DUSTIN NOMINATED The New Zealand Master Bakers’ Association has nominated as successor to Air. W. Scott, employers’ assessor on the Arbitration Court, Air. D. E. Dustin, of the firm of Dustins, Ltd., bakers and pastrycooks, Wellington. Air. Dustin, who is under 40 years of age, is’ manager of the Wellington branch of his firm. He has taken a very close interest in labour affairs and has been assessor on the court on bakery disputes for many years. He began his business career in Gisborne. Air. Dustin has been a member of the executive of the Wellington Employers’ Association and vice-president of the New Zealand Master Bakers’ Association. In the Wellington Alaster Bakers’ Association he has held the offices of president, vice-president, and secretary. Speaking on behalf of the New Zealand Alaster Bakers’ Association, of which he is president. Mr. G. K. Mathieson, of Auckland, said: ‘‘He «s a very live young man with plenty of ginger. He is very alert at discovering mistakes in awards. We think it about time that we had a man on the court who knows something about our business—but of course on the Employers’ Association he has become conversant with many businesses.” The nomination of Air. Dustin is the second received for the position. Air. G. T. Booth, of Booth, Macdonald and Co., Ltd., Christchurch, was nominated some time ago.
