TAILOR’S STOCK WORTH £1,200 DESTROYED
FIRE AT DUNEDIN Press Association. DUNEDIN, Monday. Stock valued at about £1,200 was destroyed when a fire broke out in the tailoring emporium of Mr. A. McLeod, on the second storey of the Daniel Haynes Trust Building, in the Octagon, at 6.15 p.m. to-day. Mr. McLeod’s premises on the second storey, together with a room adjoining, occupied by Nurse Stricken, were practically gutted. Premises on the ground floor, occupied by Barnett’s Radio Supplies, suffered damage through water, but large billiard 'arlours at the rear of the building on the ground floor escaped damage. The brigade had a very difficult task, owing to the dense volumes of smoke, but prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.
