WORK FOR WOMEN "WANTED. — Housemaid-chauffeur; able to do running repairs. Such advertisements as this may become common shortly, for already many domestic servants are adding to their qualifications a knowledge of the work of a chauffeur. In the suburbs of London manj women now pay their calls in the afternoon in a car driven by a servant The manager of the London School of Motoring told the “Sunday Pictorial” yesterday that the idea was becoming amazingly popular. • Personally,” he said, “I am quite sure that there will soon be an entirely new class of employee who will combine the ordinary duties of domestic service with those of a chauffeui. -Many women have rung me up and inquired if I have among my clients a girl who can be recommended as a trustworthy car driver and who would at the same time fulfil the duties of a housemaid. , ‘The average wage from the two tasks is 25s a week.”
