DEMPSTER’S fine innings of 154 was the feature of the opening day’s play in the match between New Zealand and the Scottish Counties eleven. morning commenced a match against the Scottish Counties eleven at Broughty Ferry, Dundee. The visitors won the toss, and batted first. They had easily the upper hand. The feature of the play was Dempster’s brilliant innings. He outshone his confreres, whose play was only moderately good. He scored freely all round the wicket, making one six and 16 fours.
